Reports of female-perpetrated child sexual abuse rose by 84 per cent between 2015 and 2019, the BBC reports. Victims of such abuse face "enormous stigma and shame", according to police and charities.

The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) is likely to be investigated over alleged failures as part of an inquiry into historical child abuse, The Sunday Times reports. The Crown Office said it anticipates being part of the Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry's (SCAI) investigation.
