Blackadders' Dario Demarco beats gruelling Trans Alba Race

At the beginning of this month, Dario Demarco, a solicitor in Blackadders’ corporate & commercial team in Glasgow completed the inaugural Trans Alba Race – a self-supported solo endurance bike race around Scotland.

The route covered over 1,050 miles, starting in Edinburgh before going up through the Cairngorms and Highlands to the north coast before taking the west coast down to the Borders (via some ferry hopping through Skye and Mull) and back to Edinburgh.

Mr Demarco persevered even when times were tough and finished in fourth place. He had a finish time of five days, 12 hours and 36 minutes, averaging 192 miles and 12,776 ft climbing a day, with only 1.8 hours of sleep a night!
