Ofcom has fined Virgin Media £23.8 million after it disconnected telecare customers during its programme to migrate customers to digital landlines. Landline phone calls have traditionally been delivered over a copper-based network known as the public switched telephone network (PSTN).

Ofcom has today issued a £50,000 fine against the provider of a 'nudifcation' site for failing to use age-checks to protect children from online pornography, while 20 more porn services are targeted for enforcement. The decision takes into account the provider’s decision to make the site

New protections intended to give children safer lives have been finalised by Ofcom today. More than 40 measures have been laid down for tech firms to meet their duties under the Online Safety Act. Ofcom has fined the news channel RT £200,000 for serious failures to comply with its broadcasting rules – and required the channel to broadcast a summary of its findings to viewers. The regulator has rules in place requiring broadcast news to be presented with due impartiality and its in
