Terra Firma Chambers ranked highly in latest edition of Chambers UK

Terra Firma Chambers’ strength across its core practice areas has been recognised in the latest edition of Chambers & Partners UK Bar Guide 2024.

The stable has been ranked in six practice areas, retaining Band 1 rankings for Agriculture & Rural Affairs, Planning and Environmental Law, Private Client and Tax and a Band 2 ranking for Real Estate Litigation. In addition, Terra Firma has been recognised for its expertise in respect of Employment Law, gaining a Band 2 ranking.

The stable’s position as the leading set for planning and environment work is reaffirmed with a 10th successive Band 1 ranking: “Terra Firma’s planning silks are second to none when it comes to handling complex matters.”

Once again, Terra Firma is the only stable at the Scottish bar recognised for its expertise in Agriculture & Rural Affairs, achieving a Band 1 ranking for the 9th consecutive year. James Findlay KC and Scott Blair remain the only ranked Counsel for Licensing, with both receiving Band 1 rankings.

Terra Firma members received 32 individual recommendations for their expertise in Administrative & Public Law, Agriculture & Rural Affairs, Civil Liberties & Human Rights, Commercial Dispute Resolution, Company, Employment, Immigration, Licensing, Planning & Environment, Private Client, Product Liability, Real Estate Litigation, Restructuring/Insolvency and Tax.

The clerking team at Terra Firma is again recognised for the excellent service they provide: “Excellent response times. They go the extra mile.” “The clerks at Terra Firma are amongst the best to work with. Emma Caskie-Potter, practice manager, is highly responsive and provides great assistance to instructing solicitors.”

Emma Caskie-Potter, practice manager of Terra Firma Chambers, said: “I am delighted with Terra Firma’s showing in the latest edition of Chambers UK. To maintain our rankings from last year and add a new one for Employment, plus additional individual rankings, is testament to the strength on offer across our core practice areas and beyond. It is also pleasing to have our commitment to excellence not just recognised in our members, but also in the service provided by my clerking team.”
