Terra Firma Chambers has retained its Band 1 rankings for Planning and Environmental Law, Agriculture & Rural Affairs and Tax and added a further Band 1 ranking for Private Client in the latest edition of Chambers and Partners UK Legal Directory.

In addition, Terra Firma was again ranked as a leading stable for Real Estate Litigation while TFC members received 30 individual recommendations for their expertise in Administrative & Public Law, Agriculture & Rural Affairs, Civil Liberties & Human Rights, Commercial Dispute Resolution, Company, Employment, Immigration, Licensing, Planning & Environment, Private Client, Product Liability, Real Estate Litigation, Restructuring/Insolvency and Tax.

TFC is the only stable at the Scottish bar ranked for its expertise in Agriculture & Rural Affairs: “The stable’s members have ‘very good understanding of the sector and the complexities of the Agricultural Holdings legislation’.” Terra Firma remains the only stable to be recognised for licensing with James Findlay KC and Scott Blair both receiving Band 1 rankings. The stable is also noted for its “expertise in arbitration and mediation”.

Alasdair Burnet KC is ranked in four categories: he “inspires confidence and has a very good breadth of knowledge”; while James Findlay KC receives rankings in three practice areas: “His breadth and depth of knowledge is second to none”. James also received three individual rankings for his work at the English bar. Scott Blair is also ranked in three categories. Described as “measured, pragmatic (and) hugely knowledgeable”, “His friendly and personable approach is an added draw”.
