Jones Whyte has welcomed nine new trainees to the firm, bringing the total trainee pool to 20.
This year’s induction programme received further investment and provided insight into the firm’s culture, expectations, and high standards of client service. Sessions were delivered by a range of speakers, including our senior management team, covering both practical and theoretical topics from legal practice to business support.
Workshops included client interviewing techniques, ethics and professional conduct, and the impact of AI on the legal industry. A highlight was the session “How Not to Annoy Your Sheriff” delivered by an advocate and part-time sheriff. The week concluded with a social event, team-building exercises, and a feedback survey, ensuring trainees help shape future inductions.
Deborah Carmichael, trainee partner, said: “This is one of my favourite parts of the year at Jones Whyte. We put a great deal of emphasis on recruiting the right people so that we don’t just train trainees - we provide careers for future solicitors at our firm.”
