Fatal accident inquiry to be held into death of Jamie Forbes

A decision has been made to hold a fatal accident inquiry (FAI) following the death of Jamie Forbes at Elphinstone Court, Aberdeen on 15 January 2024.
Lord Advocate Dorothy Bain KC has decided that it is in the public interest to hold an FAI to examine the full circumstances surrounding this tragic death.
Procurator fiscal Andy Shanks, who leads on fatalities investigations the Crown Office, said: “The procurator fiscal has now started work to initiate this inquiry and there are a number of legal steps which must be taken before it can commence.
“Jamie’s family will be kept informed of what will happen next including timescales for court hearings.”
