FAI court process begins for death of Perthshire farmer

The Crown Office has lodged a first notice to begin the court process for a fatal accident inquiry (FAI) into the death of Charles Thomas Ennion.

Mr Ennion, 76, a farmer at Little Glenshee Farm, Perthshire, died on 10 August 2024, after an accident involving a quadbike at Head of Moulin farm.

A preliminary hearing is set for 18 May 2026 at Perth Sheriff Court.

Procurator Fiscal Andy Shanks, who leads on death investigations, said: “The death of Charles Ennion occurred while in the course of his employment and as such a fatal accident inquiry is mandatory.

“The lodging of the first notice enables FAI proceedings to commence under the direction of the sheriff. Mr Ennion’s family will continue to be kept informed of significant developments as court proceedings progress.”
