Corporate lawyer Ryan Macready launches new practice at gunnercooke

Ryan Macready has joined gunnercooke as a partner to build his own corporate practice.

The corporate lawyer departed Dallas McMillan at the end of last week, shortly before the firm’s merger with Lindsays took effect, where he had served as partner and head of corporate, building the firm’s corporate team from scratch since joining in January 2025.

He is joined at gunnercooke by Matthew Moir, a newly qualified solicitor who completed his traineeship under Macready at Dallas McMillan. The pair plan to continue developing the corporate practice they built together over the past two years.

Macready trained at Gilson Gray from 2017, qualifying into its corporate team in 2019, and completed an in-house secondment at Arnold Clark that same year. He then moved to Macdonald Henderson in 2021 as a senior solicitor, rising to associate director in 2023, before joining Dallas Mcmillan in January 2025.

Reflecting on the move in a LinkedIn post marking his first day at gunnercooke, Macready described the decision as “significant”, framing it as a chance to build something of his own while drawing on the wider firm’s network and experience.
