Addleshaw Goddard moves into new Glasgow home

Addleshaw Goddard has completed its move to a landmark building in the heart of Glasgow city centre as it targets continued growth in Scotland.

The firm has taken the entire fourth floor at 151-155 St Vincent Street, almost doubling its space in the city to over 11,500 sq ft. The new home, which has been completely refitted in recent months, has created an office which reflects the firm’s vision, brand and standing in the market. The firm was formerly located on West Regent Street.

Addleshaw Goddard, which has a global footprint of 21 offices turning over £550.9 million in the most recent financial year, has reported eight consecutive years of double-digit growth in Scotland.  It currently has more than 300 people in Scotland across offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen.

The firm will also be moving office in Edinburgh later this year, taking almost 30,000 sq ft at 24 St Andrew Square.

The firm has increased its Scottish headcount by 65 per cent since its merger with HBJ in 2017, with recent new partner hires including Fiona Cameron (finance) and Martin Devine (real estate) in Glasgow, Anya Duncan (employment) in Aberdeen and Sophia Harrison (restructuring) in Edinburgh.

Alan Shanks, head of Scotland at Addleshaw Goddard, said: “We are excited to be moving into our fantastic new home in Glasgow at a time when I believe there are huge opportunities in the city and the west of Scotland in general. Our Glasgow operation has flourished in recent years, more than doubling to around 100 people, and that is testament to the activity we’re seeing from clients across the board, from financial services to manufacturing, and from tech to renewables.

“Providing a state‑of‑the‑art working environment is important for both our people and our clients, particularly as more colleagues return to the office. It enhances the way we collaborate and deliver for clients across the UK and internationally, while supporting our ability to attract and retain the very best talent.
