Aberdeen Law Project secures four-figure settlement for client
Sian Nagle
The Aberdeen Law Project (ALP) has secured a four-figure settlement for a client following their landlord’s failure to meet the statutory repairing standard.
Prior to ALP’s engagement, the client was unable to fully enjoy her property. This was as a result of the landlords failure to repair extractor fans which caused water infiltration throughout the client’s property. In addition to this, mould had formed within the client’s property and attic which was a direct result of the extractor fans being left in disrepair for an extended period of time.
Finally, a prior gas inspection of the property found that the boiler flue in the property was unsupported and posed a risk. Lead adviser Sian Nagle, with the support of the team at ALP, was able to successfully assist the client in obtaining compensation for the inconvenience and distress caused, alongside ensuring the outstanding repairs were satisfactorily rectified.
The client said: “I feel the Aberdeen Law project did a great job at putting my case across. I was kept informed along the way and felt kept in the loop. I am grateful that I received the compensation in the end. Would recommend this service again for sure.”
Ms Nagle said: “After what has been a stressful period for our client and her daughter, I am happy we have achieved a full and fair compensatory sum on their behalf. Further, I am delighted that the outstanding repairs were seen to and rectified. I would like to thank my team at ALP who contributed and supported me throughout the completion of the case to achieve such an amazing outcome. ALP continues to advocate for tenants’ rights and attaining positive outcomes for our clients.”
