The Aberdeen Law Project has appointed two new deputy student directors, Soma Mehmood and Hope Laing.

Anna Robertson, chair of the ALP board said: “We are thrilled to have appointed Soma and Hope to step up into their new roles. The beauty of ALP is that each year we get to have members step up and come in with new ideas and vantage points. Both members have shown such a dedication to the local community and passion for pro bono work.”

Soma Mehmood said: “I am thrilled to be taking on this role. I am excited to work collaboratively with our student volunteers on new ideas and strategies to ensure that we continue to make a profound and lasting difference in the local community.”

Hope Laing said: “I knew this opportunity would allow me to contribute and play a part in continuing the valuable work of the project and hopefully developing this even further. I look forward to the future within my new role to work alongside all project members and external bodies to ensure we minimise the access to justice problem.”
