Salaried and Fee-Paid Employment Judges

The Lord President is seeking applications for suitably qualified individuals to join the panel of Employment Judges in Scotland.

Vacancies:

• One salaried Employment Judge, based in Dundee; and
• Five fee-paid Employment Judges

Additionally, a reserve list will be created from this recruitment to fill future vacancies, which may be in any office in Scotland, over the next two years.

Key Details:

Appointments are:

• Made by the Lord President of the Court of Session
• Under regulation 8 of the Employment Tribunals (Constitution and Rules of Procedure) Regulations 2013

Eligibility Criteria (any one of the following):

1. Advocate or solicitor admitted in Scotland with at least 5 years’ standing;
2. A person satisfying the judicial-appointment eligibility condition under the Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Act 2007 (5-year basis); or
3. A member of the Bar of Northern Ireland or solicitor of the Supreme Court of Northern Ireland, also with at least 5 years’ standing.
