Commercial Uses Of Rural Land - new training course

This new private course, providing an introduction to the law and practice of commercial activity in rural Scotland, will be taught at the Faculty of Advocates on Wednesdays from 24 September to 26 November, from 11am to 1pm.

In 10 sessions it will bring together a wide range of legal and practical topics that practitioners working with rural enterprises should know about. These include traditional farming, sport and forestry, but also solar, hydro, carbon sequestration, BNG and others. Previously taught as an Honours Course at Edinburgh University, there is no comparable training in Scotland.

The extra final half-day masterclass on 14 January will address a practical problem applying the acquired expertise to a realistic situation. The teachers are the ‘three Mikes’: Blair, Yellowlees and Upton, two solicitors and an advocate – all of whom have wide experience in the field.

Suitable for both junior professionals and those older but less experienced in rural law; limited places remain available.
