SYLA: Spotlight on...decarbonisation and natural capital

The Scottish Young Lawyers’ Association is collaborating with Harper Macleod LLP to host ‘Spotlight on…Decarbonisation and Natural Capital’.

This seminar will focus on Scotland’s commitment to climate change by discussing the future of decarbonisation and natural capital in a post-COP26 Scotland, touching on the impact of COP26 on the legal landscape.

The panellists are:

  • Omar Ali - Partner within the Energy and Natural Resources team and founding member of Scottish Ethnic Minorities Lawyers’ Association. Omar will be addressing the key policies and actions of how Scotland intends to decarbonise and reach Net-Zero carbon emissions by 2045.
  • Tom Gray - Senior associate within the Energy and Natural Resources team. Tom will address the role of Natural Capital in achieving a Net-zero future.
  • Robert McConnell - Solicitor within the Energy and Natural Resources team. Robert will address the role of peatland restoration in Scotland’s goal to Net-Zero.
