Sixteen new King’s Counsel have been appointed by His Majesty The King on the recommendation of First Minister John Swinney.
The new King’s Counsel appointees are:

- Gregory Farrell, Advocate;
- Nicola Gilchrist, Advocate;
- Paul Harvey, Advocate;
- Lesley Irvine, Advocate;
- Kenneth McGuire, Advocate;
- Lynsey Rodger, Advocate;
- Barnabas Ross, Advocate;
- Elisabeth Roxburgh, Advocate;
- Michael Upton, Advocate;
- James Young, Advocate;
- Graeme Brown, Solicitor Advocate;
- Leanne Cross, Solicitor Advocate.
The new Honorary King’s Counsel appointees are:
- Sheriff Douglas Allan Brown;
- Professor Pamela Ruth Ferguson;
- Professor Fiona Leverick FRSE.
