Shoosmiths’s Wendy McLaughlin swaps desk for dance studio in charity fundraiser

Wendy McLaughlin, a senior workplace coordinator at Shoosmiths in Glasgow, has been practising hard for a special Strictly Come Dancing-style dance-off to be held in Glasgow in aid of the Beatson Cancer Charity on 11 October.
Ms McLaughlin, who joined Shoosmiths in 2021, is one of a six-strong team of individuals drawn from various offices within The Garment Factory building on Montrose Street. Collectively, they aim to raise over £10,000 for the charity.
She said: “I’m not a natural dancer – just an enthusiastic dance mum! Fortunately, each team also includes two professional dancers and we are very lucky to have the brilliant Carolyn Anderson and Donna Smith guiding us through the weekly two-hour practice sessions as we build-up our five-minute, movie-theme inspired routine.
“We’ve already completed two months of training. It’s great fun and hard work and hopefully we can win the top spot and raise lots of money for Beatson Cancer Care.”
Barry McKeown, head of Shoosmiths Glasgow office, added: “It’s fantastic to see Wendy put her best foot forward for this exciting and tough Strictly-style dance challenge in aid of Beatson Cancer Care. We wish The Garment Factory team and all involved the very best of luck.”
