Sheriff Principal's mooting competition to take place next month

The Royal Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow is to hold a mooting competition for first and second year law students.

The contest will be open to first and second year students enrolled on the Scots Law LLB and HNC/HND Legal Studies at Glasgow University, Glasgow Caledonian University, City of Glasgow College and Strathclyde University.

Four teams of two students each will compete in the preliminary rounds on the evenings of 19 and 26 April 2023 (from 5.30pm) and will be judged by Senior Sheriffs.

The final will be held at 5.30pm on 24 May 2023 and presided over by Sheriff Principal Anwar.

The moots will be held in the Faculty Hall at 12 Nelson Mandela Place, G2 1BT. All members and students (whether participating or not) are very welcome to attend all of these events, which will each be followed by a drinks reception.

The Royal Faculty is hoping that firms will support this initiative by offering the students who participate in the mooting events e.g. a week’s work experience and would welcome any notes of interest or offers to help. If you or your firm are able to assist please email library@rfpg.org
