Sheriff Principal’s Mooting Competition 2024

Sheriff Principal's Mooting Competition 2024

The Royal Faculty of Procurators will host its Sheriff Principal’s Mooting Competition in April and May following the success of last year’s inaugural moot.

The format is straightforward yet challenging: four teams of 1st and 2nd year law students from Glasgow University, Glasgow College, Strathclyde University and Glasgow Caledonian University, each comprising two students, will engage in preliminary rounds held on the evenings of 10th and 17th April 2024, starting from 5:30 pm. Under the discerning eyes of Sheriffs Stuart Reid and Brian Mohan, these budding lawyers will navigate complex legal scenarios.

The two teams that win through to the final will compete in a moot on 8th May 2024, also at 5:30 pm, presided over by Sheriff Principal Anwar.

The venue for these intellectual jousts is the Faculty Hall, 12 Nelson Mandela Place, G2 1BT.

Practitioners and law students (whether participating or not) are are very welcome to attend all of these events. Each session will be followed by a drinks reception.

Please email library@rfpg.org if you intend to attend.
