Macdonald Henderson has announced the appointment of Laura McKnight as managing director.
Ms McKnight joined the firm in 2015 and has played a central role in its growth and development over the past decade. Recognised as one of Scotland’s Top 25 Women in Law (The Business), she has advised on many of the firm’s most significant corporate transactions, including Turnkey IPS, Inspire Scotland and the Juniper Group/Traveltek transaction.
She succeeds David Beveridge, who has served as managing director since leading the management buyout of the firm in 2009. Mr Beveridge will continue as head of corporate and will continue to play a key role in the firm’s leadership and long-term growth.
Alongside her transactional practice, Ms McKnight has been instrumental in shaping the firm’s strategic direction. She led Macdonald Henderson’s rebrand in 2022, oversaw the acquisitions of Blaney Carnan and Ferguson Whyte in 2024, and played a leading role in the firm’s relocation to its new Glasgow city centre headquarters in 2026.
She said: “It is a privilege to take on the role of Managing Director at Macdonald Henderson. The firm has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, commercially focused advice and I look forward to building on the foundations established by David and the wider team. We have an exceptional team, a clear strategy and an unwavering commitment to our clients. I am excited to lead the next phase of the firm’s development.”
Mr Beveridge added: “Laura has made an outstanding contribution to the firm over many years and has been closely involved in many of the key developments that have shaped our growth. Her appointment reflects both her leadership qualities and her commitment to our clients and our people. I look forward to continuing to lead our Corporate team and to working closely with Laura as Macdonald Henderson continues to develop and grow.”
