The donation will fund one of the Foundation’s scholars for a year of their legal studies, providing them with the financial support and opportunities they otherwise would not have access to.

Lauren was a partner of Ayrshire law firm Frazer Coogans Solicitors. In 2017, she became the first solicitor in Ayrshire to hold Law Society of Scotland dual accreditation in child and family law, as well as holding posts of court reporter, safeguarder and curator ad litem. She became a Law Society of Scotland Council member in the same year and held this post until her passing.

Lawscot Foundation chair, Kay McCorquodale said: “We are incredibly grateful to Lauren’s family for making this donation on her behalf.

“Lauren worked tirelessly as an advocate for young people in her role as a child and family law solicitor. We are very proud to carry forward her legacy in supporting those who are facing immeasurable challenges by using this generous donation to help an aspiring solicitor pursue their legal education.

“It is a privilege to get to do that in her name. We can’t thank her family enough for their support.”
