Glasgow University has prevailed against the University of Dundee in the final of the Sir Alexander Stone Moot.
Dating back to 1986, the competition involves 10 Scottish universities competing over several rounds, culminating in the final which is held in the Sir Alexander Stone Moot Court at the University of Glasgow.
The moot, held last Thursday, concerned an international criminal law problem focusing on immunity to extradition.
This year’s final was judged by Cameron Irons from Levy & McRae. Nancy Methven and Lottie Thomson appeared as appellants for the University of Dundee, and Catriona Walker and David Mackenzie appeared as respondents for the University of Glasgow.
The winners said: “The Sir Alexander Stone has been an enjoyable and intellectually challenging experience, offering a great opportunity to develop our advocacy skills. The University of Dundee team were excellent opponents, and it was a very competitive final.”
