Faculty renews its support for Scottish Legal Walks 2025

The Faculty of Advocates will again support the Scottish Legal Walks as a national sponsor alongside the Law Society of Scotland.
Organised by the Access to Justice Foundation Scotland, the walks raise funds to support the provision of free legal advice services.
Now in their twelfth year in Edinburgh, the walks are a staple of Scotland’s legal calendar, taking place in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Falkirk, Paisley, and Aberdeen. Hundreds are expected to participate, all united in promoting access to justice.
To date, these events in Scotland, teamed with other strategic development work, have raised nearly £1 million over the years, which has been distributed through 53 grants to support the provision of vital legal advice to individuals and communities most in need throughout Scotland.
“The walks provide a visible and practical way for the legal profession to support those who rely on free legal services,” said Faculty of Advocates Treasurer Ruth Crawford KC.
“The walks are always well-being enhancing, fun and offer a unique networking experience,” said chair of the Access to Justice Foundation Scotland Committee and Law Society fellow Graeme McWilliams. “Everyone is welcome – including lawyers, trainees, devils, paralegals, other legal professionals, colleagues, friends, families, and their dogs.”
The dates for this year’s walks are:
- Falkirk Legal Walk – Sunday 21 September
- Paisley Legal Walk –Tuesday 23 September
- Glasgow Legal Walk – Wednesday 24 September
- Dundee Legal Walk – Tuesday 30 September
- Edinburgh Legal Walk – Wednesday 1 October
