Paul Macdonald
Eventus Law Limited, a boutique corporate law firm based in Glasgow, has advised on a business succession project for Curtainwise (Scotland) Limited, culminating in a vendor-initiated management buy-out (VIMBO) by Curtainwise Soft Furnishing Limited.
Eventus Law provided support from legal structuring advice through to implementation of the transaction and completion.
Curtainwise is a specialist provider of bespoke soft furnishings and interior solutions, serving a diverse client base across the residential and commercial sectors, including many of Scotland’s high-end luxury hotels, venues and restaurants. The transaction enables continuity for the business under the stewardship of its experienced management team, with no changes to how it trades.
The transaction was led by Paul Macdonald, a founder at Eventus Law, which specialises in providing business succession advice to owner managed businesses across the UK.
Mr Macdonald said: “We were delighted to support on this business succession project. Guiding owner-managed businesses with leadership transition to the next generation is a key part of what we do, and it was a pleasure to work closely with the seller and management team to deliver a successful VIMBO. This transaction perfectly demonstrates the skill set of our legal practice and its ability to help sellers achieve an exit through carefully crafted business succession transactions.”
William McKenzie, a director of Curtainwise (Scotland) Limited, added: “Eventus Law provided pragmatic, commercially minded advice. Their support was key in helping us navigate the process smoothly and achieve a positive outcome for all parties. We are excited for the business going forward and look forward to building on its strong foundations.”
