EHRC webinar – impact of retained EU law on equality and workers’ rights

On Monday 30 November, the Equality and Human Rights Commission Scotland will host a webinar exploring the topic of retained EU law with regard to the general principles and implications for equality and workers’ rights post-Brexit.

Retained EU law is an entirely new concept raising many questions for law practitioners, including:

  • What is retained EU law?
  • What legislation is retained? What happens if there is a conflict between EU law and domestic legislation?
  • What case law is retained and is it binding? In what circumstances can the Courts depart from it?
  • What does this mean for equality law and other aspects of worker’s rights?

The event aims to spell out these complex issues and provide digestible technical knowledge on the topic from Aiden O’Neill QC.

This free event will be of interest to those with a legal background including lawyers, advocates, Employment Tribunal members, employment law specialists, students and law academics.

Further details and registration information is available on the Eventbrite page here.
