Macdonald Henderson has announced the appointment of Douglas Telfer as director to lead the firm’s residential conveyancing team, based from the firm’s office in the west end of Glasgow, formerly Ferguson Whyte.
The appointment follows Macdonald Henderson’s acquisition of Ferguson Whyte in October 2024.
Mr Telfer was the partner in charge of two offices for one of Scotland’s largest full service law firms and has 20 years’ residential conveyancing experience in Glasgow and the west of Scotland, specialising in the purchase and sale of residential property, transfers of title, remortgages and security work.
He said: “I am delighted to join Macdonald Henderson at a really exciting time for both the firm and our west end office in particular. Ferguson Whyte had an excellent reputation for conveyancing in Glasgow and my aim is to enhance this reputation even further and continue the firm’s growth in the residential property market.
“Having been born and raised in the west end it feels fantastic to have returned “home” and I look forward to using all of my experience and local knowledge to provide our clients with a first class service.”
Macdonald Henderson director Laura McKnight added: “This is another exciting moment for our firm. The west end of Glasgow continues to be one of most evocative locales in Scotland, to live and work.
“Led by Douglas and supported by FW founder Martin Ferguson and the MH west end team, MH will continue to grow its stellar reputation for residential property, acting for many hundreds of clients, from professional investors to first time buyers, and with a knowledge of the Scottish property market which is second to none. We look forward to welcoming Douglas to our firm.”
