CMS launches equIP Collective series to support Scottish innovation

CMS is to launch a series of events starting later this month connecting company founders, investors, business leaders and advisers from across Scotland’s innovation ecosystem.
The equIP Collective will feature expert insights, thought leadership, practical discussion and networking opportunities to support entrepreneurship. The events are designed to help Scottish businesses build valuable relationships, tackle challenges and unlock opportunities for growth.
The first equIP Collective event, From Setbacks to Scale-ups: Navigating Start-up Challenges, takes place at CMS’s Glasgow office on West Regent Street on Wednesday 19 August between 5.30 and 8.00pm. It will focus on founder resilience, fundraising pressures, intellectual property challenges and common founder pitfalls. The evening will also feature a panel discussion and bring together legal, technical and founder perspectives on the realities of building a high-growth business.
Along with input from legal experts at CMS, the evening will showcase experienced guest panellists from across the Scottish start-up ecosystem. Contributors include Patricia McClay, Ecosystem Manager at Barclays Eagle Labs; Claire Partridge, High Growth Companies Account Management Team Leader at Scottish Enterprise; and Refilwe Digoamaje, founder of Ulimi Larona.

“Focusing on key issues impacting aspirational businesses, these events will provide expert perspectives, thought leadership, and insightful discussion all aimed at supporting entrepreneurs and the wider innovation ecosystem.
“We look forward to welcoming our expert panellists, founders and other key figures from Scotland’s entrepreneurial ecosystem at our inaugural event later this month, and to continuing the growth of our equIP community.”
Further CMS equIP Collective events, which will be held at the firm’s offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh, will be announced in due course.
