CMS has announced 40 promotions in Scotland, including two lawyers who have been promoted to of counsel.

The newly promoted of counsel are Aberdeen-based Andy Atwell and Edinburgh-based Jenni Darling, both of whom specialise in employment disputes.

Eight lawyers have been promoted to senior associate: Aberdeen-based Claire Quinn, Jaimie-Jean Hunter, Ruth Gardiner and Niamh Williamson; Glasgow-based Ewan Wilson and Laura Rankin; and Edinburgh-based Molly McGrady and Anna Owens.

An additional 14 have been promoted to mid-level associate and a further 16 promotions were made across the firm’s business services and Legal Services Unit teams.

This latest round of promotions follows the firm’s March announcement that Abbie Harley, Charlie Denham, Rebecca McGladrigan and Nicola Insley had been appointed as partners in Scotland.

Allan Wernham, managing director of CMS Scotland, said: “These 40 promotions reflect the depth of talent across our Scottish offices and the important contribution our people make to the continued success of CMS in Scotland. Supporting career development at every level is central to our growth strategy and to the high-quality service we deliver for clients.

“I am particularly pleased to congratulate Andy Atwell and Jenni Darling on their appointments as Of Counsel. Their progression recognises the quality of their work, their commitment to clients and the trust they have earned from colleagues across the firm.”
