BTO Solicitors LLP has announced its support for Fringe by the Sea, a not-for-profit multi-arts festival taking place in North Berwick from 1–10 August.

Fringe by the Sea has become a cultural cornerstone of East Lothian, drawing in excess of 86,000 visitors in 2024 over 10 days, and generating an impressive £9.9 million in economic benefit for the region. A past winner of the Scottish Thistle Award for Outstanding Cultural Event or Festival, the festival is committed to enriching the local community through diverse, accessible programming.

The 2025 programme features more than 250 events across music, comedy, literature, film, wellness, dance, environmental talks, crafts, food and drink, and much more - showcasing everything from emerging local talent to world-renowned performers.

This new partnership is being championed by Jen Paton, a partner in BTO’s corporate team and a proud North Berwick resident.

She said: “We’re thrilled to support Fringe by the Sea – a dynamic, high-profile festival run by a passionate team of locals from creative industry backgrounds. It’s an event that reflects the spirit of the community, and BTO is excited to be a part of it for the very first time.”

As part of BTO’s growing connection to the town, Jen is also now a member at The Lighthouse, North Berwick’s first dedicated co-working and flexible office space.

Rory Steel, festival director, added: “We are delighted to welcome BTO as a supporting partner. Their presence adds further strength to our growing network of local and national supporters, and we look forward to making this year’s festival the best yet.”
