And finally... organised and cereal crime

Police have announced a successful operation which led to the seizure of cocaine, cannabis, ketamine, cash – and stolen cornflakes.

West Yorkshire Police said a raid on six addresses led to the seizure of drugs with a street value of £750,000, as well as an estimated £10,000 in cash and Rolex watches worth up to £120,000.

“Officers also seized approximately 20 kilos of Kellogg’s Corn Flakes, believed to have been stolen,” the force added in a press release.

The retail value of the cornflakes could be around £85 based on the Tesco Clubcard price of £2.85 for a 670 gram pack.

Four men appeared in court in Leeds last week charged with various drugs offences.

One of those men was also charged with possession of criminal property. It is not clear from the press release if this charge relates to the cornflakes.

The four men have been remanded into custody and will appear before Leeds Crown Court again on 9 April.

Two further men and a woman were arrested during the searches; the woman has been released on bail.
