C T Bollen Mental Health Solicitors are dedicated to representing individuals detained under the Mental Health Act across Scotland. Our work is guided by a commitment to justice, compassion, and advocacy for some of society’s most vulnerable individuals. We provide legal representation at Mental Health Tribunals and offer advice on all aspects of mental health law.

The Role

We are seeking a Trainee Solicitor to join our team. We would also consider second year trainees looking to assign or newly qualified solicitors with an interest or experience in mental health law.
This is a unique opportunity to train in a niche and meaningful area of law. You will be working closely with experienced mental health professionals, supporting clients through Mental Health Tribunals and gaining hands-on experience in advocacy, case management, and client care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in representing clients at Mental Health Tribunals
• Attend client meetings, hospital visits, and hearings
• Conduct legal research and keep abreast of developments in mental health law
• Provide administrative and casework support

About You

We are looking for someone who

o is committed to social justice, Mental Health Law and client advocacy
o is organised, proactive, and able to manage a varied workload with supervision
o Experience working with vulnerable individual
o Has a full UK drivers licence as it we provide representation at Mental Health Tribunals throughout Scotland.
