The Post

The Central Legal Office (CLO) is part of NHS National Services Scotland. CLO provides legal services to the NHS in Scotland and to the wider public sector.

This post is an exciting opportunity to work in the CLO Litigation Department as a solicitor, working in a team that delivers a comprehensive litigation service to the NHS in Scotland. The Department requires a solicitor to support the work being done for Scottish Health Boards in matters relating to clinical negligence litigation, in Judicial Review and Petition procedure work and in in responding to various Public Inquiries.

The Candidate

You will have an interesting and diverse work load, and enjoy all aspects of contentious and non-contentious legal work. You will be a team player and enjoy working in a supportive collegiate environment. The posts are suitable for a qualified solicitor with some post-qualifying experience.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a PVG Scheme/Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who have lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency

Location and Working Pattern

Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow.
Currently hybrid working.
Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
