About the role
Build your future helping people make life’s biggest move.
In this role, you’ll be a valued member of our highly regarded Residential Property team—advising clients through some of life’s most significant milestones. Based in Edinburgh (with hybrid working supported), you’ll work alongside experienced colleagues to deliver practical, client-focused advice across a broad range of residential property matters. Whether acting for first-time buyers, investors, developers, or existing homeowners, you’ll play a key role in delivering a seamless client experience. It’s about:
• Managing transactions – Advising clients on residential property purchases, sales, transfers of title, re-mortgages, and new build transactions from instruction through to completion.
• Client experience – Providing clear, pragmatic advice and guiding clients confidently through every stage of the conveyancing process.
• Collaboration– Working closely with solicitors, lenders, estate agents, developers and other third parties to ensure transactions progress efficiently and successfully.
• Building strong relationships – Developing lasting relationships with clients and professional contacts, becoming a trusted adviser and ambassador for the firm.
• Cross referral – Recognising opportunities to support clients with other legal needs and working collaboratively with colleagues across the firm.
• Mentoring and support– Supporting and developing junior colleagues while contributing positively to a close-knit and ambitious team.
• Growth & profile – Playing an active role in growing our presence in Edinburgh and strengthening our reputation in the residential property market.
What you’ll need
We’re looking for:
• Good experience in residential property law, with ideally 2+ years post qualifying experience.
• The ability to manage a varied caseload of residential property transactions independently and efficiently.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with a confident, client-focused approach.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive mindset with an interest in business development and growing professional networks.
• A collaborative attitude - you’ll be part of a team that values trust, support, knowledge-sharing and shared success.
• A genuine passion for delivering exceptional client service and achieving the best outcomes for clients.
