Private Client Solicitor
Contract: Full-time or part-time (flexible working happily considered)
We are a small, friendly firm of solicitors based in Edinburgh and we are looking for a Private Client Solicitor to join our close-knit team. Our firm is built on trust, care and long-standing relationships, and we hope to welcome someone who shares these values.
About the Role
In this role, you will work closely with clients and their families with sensitivity and understanding, supporting them through important life events. Your work will include:
• Executries
• Wills and succession planning
• Powers of Attorney
• General private client matters as they arise
You will have the freedom to manage your own caseload, with a supportive team around you whenever you need a second pair of eyes or a sounding board.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you:
• Are a qualified solicitor with experience in private client work
• Have a warm, thoughtful approach and enjoy building meaningful client relationships
• Communicate clearly and compassionately
• Can work independently but appreciate being part of a small, supportive team
What We Offer
We want you to feel valued and supported in your work. We offer:
• A genuinely friendly working environment where people look out for one another
• Full-time or part-time working options, with flexibility where needed
• No time recording or fee targets — allowing you to focus on clients, not numbers
• Opportunities for professional growth, including support for the STEP qualification if desired
• Staff pension scheme
• Employee benefit scheme, including £50,000 death-in-service benefit
• 23 days’ basic annual leave plus 9 public holidays, including seven days over the festive period
If you enjoy private client work and would like to join a firm where you can make a real difference while maintaining a healthy work–life balance, we would be delighted to hear from you.
