Legal Counsel

We are looking for a motivated and commercially minded Legal Counsel to join our business and support the delivery of legal services across a broad range of matters. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Commercial Solicitor (0–3 years’ PQE) to gain hands-on, varied in-house experience while working directly with the group’s Senior Legal Counsel.

As a Legal Counsel your responsibilities will include, although not limited to:

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements, including:
    • confidentiality/non-disclosure agreements
    • supply and distribution agreements
    • manufacturing agreements
    • licensing agreements
    • service agreements and framework arrangements
    • Providing pragmatic legal and commercial advice to colleagues across the business.
    • Assist in developing and maintaining legal templates, playbooks, and contract management processes.
    • Liaise with external counsel as required on specialist matters.
    • Contributing to the establishment and evolution of the legal function, including knowledge management and legal operations.

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Qualified solicitor in Scotland or England & Wales.
  • 0–3 years’ post-qualification experience, ideally with a strong grounding in commercial contracts gained in private practice or an in-house setting.
  • Excellent legal drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to communicate legal advice clearly and constructively to non-legal colleagues.
  • Sound commercial judgment and a willingness to learn and take ownership of work.
  • Proactive, well-organised and able to manage competing priorities.

Desirable:

  • Interest in or exposure to the pharmaceutical, life sciences or healthcare sectors.
  • Knowledge of intellectual property law, particularly in relation to licensing and ownership of intellectual property rights.
  • Awareness of the regulatory landscape applicable to pharmaceutical businesses.
