As part of our continued growth, we’re excited to offer a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking solicitor to join our award-winning Business Development team. You’ll work closely with our six-strong legal team to manage and develop the HM Connect network across Scotland.

About HM Connect

HM Connect is a dynamic referral and support network comprising over 400 law firms across Scotland. Built on trust, collaboration, and long-standing relationships, the network is a cornerstone of our commitment to supporting the wider legal community.

The Role

We’re looking for a solicitor with between NQ and 5 years’ PQE who is passionate about the business of law and ready to explore a non-traditional legal career path. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building and naturing relationships, who loves creative thinking and challenging the status quo, and wants to make a tangible impact on the legal sector.

You’ll work directly with Amy Walsh and the wider HM Connect team to ensure the smooth running of the network and to drive its continued growth and success.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with member firms through regular liaison and meetings
• Welcome and onboard new firms into the network
• Analyse and report on network’s management information to internal stakeholders
• Manage client referrals and enquiries within agreed timeframes
• Organise and host both in-person and online events
• Promote HM Connect across the Scottish legal marketplace
• Represent Harper Macleod LLP in business development and ambassadorial activities

What We’re Looking For

• A qualified solicitor with experience in private practice
• A genuine passion for client care and relationship building
• Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Experience in planning and delivering successful events
• A creative mindset and openness to new ideas
• Confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels
