We are a well-established and respected legal practice serving North Ayrshire and beyond. With a strong reputation in family law, we are now seeking a dynamic and experienced solicitor to lead our Family Law department.

The Role

As Head of Family Law, you will be responsible for managing a varied caseload of family law matters including divorce, child contact/residence, cohabitation disputes, financial provision, and guardianship. You will also oversee the department’s strategic growth, supervise junior solicitors, and contribute to business development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Family Law team
• Handle complex family law cases with minimal supervision
• Provide mentorship and supervision to junior staff
• Represent clients in Sheriff Court and Court of Session
• Maintain high standards of client care and legal service
• Contribute to marketing and networking initiatives

Requirements

• Scottish-qualified solicitor with 3+ years PQE in family law
• Strong advocacy and negotiation skills
• Experience with Legal Aid and private client work
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
