We are a small, friendly practice in Aberdeen city centre looking to recruit a solicitor to specialise in family law cases across the spectrum of sheriff court family law actions. We do not undertake legal aid work at all. Traditional secretarial support is provided, including audio-typing and filing. Flexibility is a big part of our working package and you can have variable hours and hybrid office-remote working if required. You would have your own room to work in privately. Depending on the candidate, the position could be full-time or part-time and even that aspect is flexible throughout the year. Your experience would also determine whether you were a solicitor, associate or consultant.

You would run your own files and be offered appropriate supervision and/or guidance from our senior associate in family law, our associate in family law or our principal as and when needed. The role can be tailored to suit the experience of the person applying, so an experienced practitioner would suit this as much as someone in earlier stages of their family law career. We are open to taking on someone who wants to switch practice areas and we can provide support for the necessary preparation that would involve. The level of supervision and support can be varied to suit the candidate.
