Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an NQ to PQ2 to join our Employment Law & Dispute Resolution team.

The position is on a full-time permanent basis, core hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, 33.75 hours per week.

The role will principally be based in our Edinburgh office, although we support a hybrid working approach once sufficient experience of performing the role has been obtained.

Role and Responsibilities

Your work would involve providing advice on a full range of employment law issues and a broad range of dispute matters and working as part of a team you will have the opportunity to become involved in a diverse range of disputes including property, contentious trust and executry, intellectual property, professional negligence, commercial/contract disputes, partnership disputes, employment disputes agricultural disputes, and wildlife matters.

You would be expected to have or be enthusiastic to acquire a sound knowledge of litigation and alternative methods of dispute resolution. You will be able to handle a wide variety of challenging work with minimum supervision.

In providing advice to clients, you will work with other private client experts to ensure that fully integrated holistic advice is given to our clients.

Person Specification

This is the ideal role for an individual with up to two years post qualified or traineeship experience.

The ability to work directly and professionally with clients and colleagues of all levels is required. As you will become a trusted adviser and sounding board to our clients, you will need to have an interest in people and their affairs, whilst acting with discretion and empathy.

In order to be successful, you will be a strong team player with sound practical experience and enthusiasm to develop your technical skills and legal career further in a supportive environment.

You will be self-sufficient, commercially aware and able to handle a wide variety of challenging work.

A high level of discretion and confidentiality is a requirement of this role, as you will be exposed to sensitive client data and financial information.
