Ranked among the country’s leading dealmakers, Harper Macleod’s Corporate, Commercial and Regulatory team continues to grow and we’re looking for a lawyer who has the drive and ability to join a group advising some of Scotland’s leading businesses.

Your role

You will work with Partner Paula Skinner and her team, advising diverse and exciting clients including entrepreneurs at all stages of their business life cycle, from start up to eventual exit. Joining a close-knit and fast paced team, your role will involve advising on investments, acquisitions and disposals along with shareholder arrangements and share incentivisation schemes. You will be working with some of the most exciting cutting-edge businesses in Scotland and will have a varied workload.

You will be a self-starter, able to work well within a team environment and be capable of dealing directly with a high volume of client enquiries.  Applicants must have corporate transactional experience and at least 2 years’ PQE with excellent technical skills and attention to detail.  You should have experience of taking transactions from beginning to end. You must have the ability to competently manage the day to day aspects of transactions and support the team.

This role would be ideally suited for someone who wants to progress in their career and is comfortable with a significant amount of client contact.  This role will provide a platform for someone to take a step-up in their next role.

The entrepreneurial team forms part of the wider corporate, commercial and regulatory department, a team of over 35 people which continues to grow.  We are frequently recognised as leading dealmakers and year on year, we are increasing our deal numbers with the vast majority of deals now involving some overseas element.  There is huge opportunity in our business to grow a fantastic career.
