The Judicial Appointments Board for Scotland (JABS) invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who wish to be considered for appointment to Chairperson of the Parole Board for Scotland. This is an important opportunity to contribute to justice in Scotland.

It is expected that the successful applicant will take up post in 2026.

The Parole Board for Scotland plays a vital role in the criminal justice system by determining which prisoners can serve the remainder of their sentence in the community, on licence and under supervision.

This is a complex and demanding role requiring a range of qualities, skills and experience at an appropriately strategic level. The Chairperson will lead a high profile organisation to ensure that current and future challenges are addressed effectively.
