Board Vacancies

Larkfield provides affordable housing and services to over 2000 customers in the Inverclyde area.

As a subsidiary of Link Group Ltd, Larkfield is also part of a bigger group of award-winning social enterprises (“Link”) providing housing and support services to over 15,000 people. Comprising 5 Registered Social Landlords, a commercial maintenance and development company, as well as a specialist support organisation, the group forms Scotland’s second largest housing association.

Larkfield’s aim is to provide excellent homes and value for money services within a thriving community, whist Larkfield’s strategic ambitions are set within the context of Link’s vision “Providing Homes, Improving Lives”.

We are looking to add to the range of skills and experience on our Larkfield Board.

Who are we looking for?

If you share our values and passion for driving service improvements and supporting the development of our communities, we would like to hear from you. You don’t need to be a housing specialist, but you do need a personal passion for improving the lives of families and communities.

We welcome interest from all sectors of our communities, with a particular aim to expand our representation of younger people, people with disabilities and people from diverse ethnic backgrounds.

Areas of knowledge, skills and experience we are looking for include backgrounds in:

  • Asset Management
  • Commercial and Business skills
  • Housing Management
  • Finance and banking
  • Financial Management
  • Legal
  • Marketing and Media
  • Property Maintenance

What time commitment does this take?

We hold 7 Board meetings a year as well as separate Strategy Day sessions. These run in the early evening, typically on the second or third Wednesday of the month. Meetings are run on a hybrid basis where you can participate remotely, on-line or face-to-face, in our Greenock office.

In addition to the main Board there are technical sub-committees which Board members can join depending on areas of particular interest or specialism.

You would need to be able to commit time for the main Board meetings along with preparation time in terms of reviewing Board papers in advance.

What’s in it for you?

You’ll have the opportunity to influence Larkfield’s strategic direction and to help drive our ambition to make a positive difference to people and communities whilst also developing and improving our services. You’ll be working with like-minded, experienced and committed colleagues to achieve our strategic ambitions, keeping people at the heart of everything we do.

Our board members volunteer their time to prepare for and attend regular meetings, training and information events.

In return for sharing your time, experience and expertise, reasonable expenses are reimbursed. We also provide a range of learning and development opportunities.
