SWRC Domestic Abuse Training for Solicitors - April & May 2026
We are pleased to announce our next round of Domestic Abuse Training for Solicitors.
The Scottish Women’s Rights Centre is offering its specialist online training programme intended to develop family law solicitors understanding and awareness of domestic abuse, with the aim of adding solicitors to the SWRC Solicitor Signposting Network.
Dates: 24th April & 22nd May | 9am–2pm
Location: Online
Cost: £150 per module or £200 when booking both
Delivered by family law specialist Helen Hughes and Jodie McVicar of Scottish Women’s Aid, the training will help you:
- Understand the impact of domestic abuse and coercive control on women and children
- Apply trauma-informed practice in your legal work
- Navigate the law and procedures for protective orders and safeguarding children
Solicitors who complete both modules are also invited to join the SWRC Solicitor Signposting Network (SSN).
SSN members benefit from:
- Regular updates on SWRC work, resources, policy and more
- A community of peers working in domestic abuse and family law
- Promotion to potential clients on the SWRC website
- Opportunities for ongoing learning
Modules can be booked individually or together.
