Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie LLP (WJM) is urging individuals to sign up to attend its renewables conference in Glasgow on Thursday 10 November.

The firm recently announced the line-up of speakers for the event which includes Karen Anne Hutton, head of repowering and life extension (UK&I) at Renewable Energy System (RES), David Bell, a chartered town planner with over 30 years’ experience in development projects, and Finley Becks-Phelps, director at Scottish Renewables and UK development director at Fred Olsen Renewables.

Bill Ireland, CEO and managing director of East Lothian-based firm Logan Energy, is also set to join the panel, where he will provide insight into energy, carbon management and sustainability, having been dubbed ‘Scotland’s hydrogen guru’ after developing hydrogen power projects and being known for being one of the leading suppliers of integrated hydrogen solutions.

Alongside the Scottish firm’s renewables experts Andy McFarlane and Fraser Gillies, the notable guest panellists are set to discuss the re-powering of wind farms and turbines, battery storage, future-proofing sites, and the opportunities that lie ahead for the future of the renewables industry.

Regarded as one of the most important events of the year for those working in the energy sector, WJM’s 2022 seminar will focus on the themes ‘Repower, Recharge, Rethink’, and will be held in Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall.

Andy McFarlane, head of renewables at WJM, said: “I am delighted to confirm our line-up of speakers who are sure to have some fascinating insights from a variety of perspectives.

“I am grateful for these speakers and all of our attendees for their commitment to making this another important conference which I’m sure will drive many important conversations on the progression of the industry since COP26.”

Places at the seminar are free and can be booked by emailing events@wjm.co.uk.
