Why Trust Matters: in conversation with Lord Reed
Join the Supreme Court online for a conversation on ‘Why trust matters: Public confidence in the rule of law in an age of AI and populism’.
Public trust in institutions can no longer be taken for granted. In an era marked by the rise of populism, the spread of misinformation and the risks of AI, public trust is declining. Rapid developments in AI, the increasing spread of misinformation and deepfakes all contribute to declining trust.
This event brings together a distinguished panel: Lord Reed, President of The Supreme Court; Claire Hardaker, Lancaster University; and Daniel Cameron, IPSOS Mori. The panel will be moderated by Hannah White, Institute for Government.
The panel will explore how the courts and other institutions can help influence public trust in the rule of law and democracy.
