Edinburgh Law School’s Free Legal Advice Centre (FLAC) has been recognised for its stellar work in offering pro bono legal advice to the public. On April 25th, the team were awarded the Access to Justice Foundation Award at a ceremony at the House of Commons.

The award was part of the LawWorks and Attorney General’s Student Pro Bono Awards 2018. The ceremony was hosted by High Court Judge Sir Robin Knowles CBE.

Director of the Edinburgh Centre for Professional Legal Studies, Rebecca Samaras, said: “This important and prestigious Award recognises the wonderful pro bono work that has been carried out by our students and volunteer solicitors over the past 10 years and is testament to FLAC’s and the School of Law’s commitment to promoting access to justice.

“This has been a tremendous year for FLAC and to have received this award in FLAC’s 10th anniversary year makes it all the more appreciated.”
