Tumbling Lassie to feature at this year’s Edinburgh book festival

The Tumbling Lassie operetta, which premiered in Edinburgh earlier this year, is set to be profiled at this year’s Edinburgh International Book Festival in August.

‘We have no slaves in Scotland…’ This was the conclusion of a 1687 case concerning a travelling showman and a performing gymnast he had ‘acquired’.

Composer Tom Cunningham and novelist Alexander McCall Smith as well as Alan McLean QC will discuss their project and explain why the story still matters today.

Tickets for the event will go on sale on 26 June, more information is available here.
