Thorntons has bolstered its land and rural business team with a new appointment.

Anneli Spence has joined the Thorntons’ team as a solicitor in the firm’s Perth office.

Ms Spence will advise clients on rural property issues, including the purchase of land, property finance and securities.

She previously worked at Shepherd and Wedderburn, where she completed her traineeship, spending several years working in its commercial property department in Glasgow.

Kenneth Mackay, head of Thorntons land and rural business team, said: “We are all excited to welcome Anneli to George Street.

“Anneli is a highly motivated and highly capable solicitor and I am sure she will prove to be a fantastic addition to our committed and hard working team.”

Ms Spence, from Dunblane, a mother of two, volunteers with a local charitable pre-school in Dunblane and enjoys cooking, baking, skiing and running.

She said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be joining such a prestigious and ambitious firm. Thorntons has cemented an excellent reputation in the land and rural sector, so it is wonderful to be joining such a dedicated and professional team.

“I am relishing this new challenge and will bring all my experience to bear in continuing to drive Thorntons’ Perth service offering forward.”
