Thorntons lawyers climb legal ladder

Thorntons has announced a number of promotions as it expands team across its eight offices.

Twelve employees have been promoted across the firm’s specialist teams including employment, conveyancing, agriculture, intellectual property, private client and personal injury law.

Eight members of the team, including Robin Beattie, Lauren Rae, Cheryl Wallace, Lindsay Bryce, Robert Barr, Kim McNaughton, Caroline Pigott and Gemma McClelland, have been promoted to senior solicitors.

Aimee Gibbons, Lisa Mannion and Lynsay McFarlane have qualified as solicitors after successfully completing Thorntons’ two-year training scheme.

Debbie Dewar has been appointed as associate in the firm’s land and rural business team. Ms Dewar, who was previously a senior solicitor in the firm, is based in the George Street offices in Perth.

She said: “Thorntons has been very encouraging in my legal career and I am delighted to be able to progress in the company.

“The support from the team in the land and rural sector has been fantastic and I look forward to continuing my work with them.”
