Anderson Strathern has been appointed to all six lots of the Legal Services Framework for the Advanced Procurement for Universities and Colleges (APUC) which was established to ensure good value and high quality services for education institutions in Scotland.

The firm was top ranked in three out of the six lots and second in the remaining three – one of only two firms to be successful in securing a place on all six lots of the panel.

The six lots for legal services under the APUC framework include the all-encompassing ‘One-Stop-Shop’ for all legal services and separate lots for commercial business, property & estates, people/HR matters, charity, and international.

The firm’s focus on legal services for further and higher education clients has also been recently strengthened by linking with law firms Mills & Reeve in England and Carson McDowell in Northern Ireland to be appointed as UK wide sponsors to the Association of Heads of University Administration (AHUA).

Alun Thomas, head of the firm’s education group, said: “We are pleased to be recognised as leaders in the provision of legal services to clients in the HE and FE sectors and our recent success in the APUC process is testament to this.

“We are looking forward to developing our relationships with existing clients as well as having the opportunity to work with even more of Scotland’s higher and further education institutions.”

Managing partner and APUC framework manager, Murray McCall (pictured), said: “It is fantastic to see the wide range of expertise within the firm coming together to be so successful in all six separate areas of the APUC Legal Services Framework.

“To be top ranked in three of those is a great achievement, and to be on all six Scottish Government lots and all six APUC lots at the same time really does demonstrate the strength and depth of the legal services we offer.”
